After years of living in the sun, straightening my hair and using home colour kit products, I found my hair very dehydrated, brittle and coarse – -it also tends to be quite frizzy. 

So I decided to treat myself to a complimentary consultation with John at Heaven Spa in Didsbury Manchester. I was precise in what I wanted which was simply manageable, shiny, frizz free hair.

John told me all about La Brasiliana hair treatment which is a Keratin and Collagen treatment and this is specifically for dry unruly hair which I had so I opted for it. It is sometimes called the permanent blow dry. It takes a couple of hours in the salon but the results last for up to 3 months.

Jane Iredale pure minerals makeup was used to complete the look we used the Liquid foundation in Caramel, Purepressed eye trio in brown sugar. Pure moist Lip colour, Kim and Active Light number 2 as a concealer.

When I first heard these words echoing excitedly around Heaven spa I have to say I was lost for words and a little shocked to boot. Since the only “Brazilian I am familiar with, other than Big Brothers cutie Rodrigo, was the increasingly popular waxing treatment!!

My curiosity aroused, I asked one of our hair experts, “What’s all the fuss about”

“Is your hair dull dry and damaged? Is your hair curly, wavy, frizzy, overly voluminous or unmanageable?” he asked “well yes, all of the above” I answered, a little tear starting to emerge from one eye. “Then La- Brasiliana is the treatment for you” he said, triumphantly.

La-Brasiliana Keratin Treatment with Collagen is a revolutionary process that transforms the hair. The treatment is Keratin based, Keratin being the primary protein of the hair, skin and nails for those of us who have forgotten our ‘O’ level biology. This natural substance gives the hair the ability to return to its original healthy, shiny, smooth state while the Collagen improves the elasticity of the hair.

The application process takes from 1.5 to 4 hours depending on the length and thickness of the hair. After application of the product, it is infused with a ceramic straightener, which seals in moisture, hydrates the hair and creates a glossy finish. Results are visible immediately after treatment is completed, our clients have been amazed with the results.

Management of the hair after La-Brasiliana is effortless. The amount of time required to style hair will decrease dramatically. Humidity, rain or perspiration will no longer affect your hairstyle.

Cost varies according to the length of your hair, Long hair (below shoulder) is £160 and short hair (above shoulder) is £140. Plus we give you £30 worth of products for you to take home.

Also called the permanent blow dry, the results will last two to four months and as you repeat the treatment every two to four months you will see continuous improvement of the hairs’ health.
